"A Line in the Soil" Celebration

If you've ever doubted that music could make the rafters ring, just try giving a concert in a machine shed! We were privileged to be part of the entertainment lineup at the annual "A Line in the Soil" Celebration at the Cory family farm. They are an very dedicated family who has taken seriously the challenge of alternative farming. Their own grass-fed beef was the special feature on the menu, while vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to cool off.

Enjoying dinner...

Later that evening, after a group jamming session, our family packed up our equipment and headed over to a friend's house to cash in on a free Sibelius 6 crash course. (Thanks, Marie!) Our great big barn was a welcome sight early the next morning when we pulled into our drive. O the joys of traveling!

A Sweltering Summer Serenade

It's fair time folks! It wouldn't quite be an Iowa summer without that fun in the sun at the fair.

Our very shy secret admirer

Karen - fiddling a fast n' fancy (but not quite memorized) hoedown

Picnic with grandparents! - the best sort of refreshment.

We're Still Alive!

We had a great time giving a concert for the wonderful people at Sand Lake Christian Missionary Alliance Church way up in Spring Lake, Minnesota!
They have some beautiful country, but a lot of mosquitoes. Some of us got more than our share of bites! :(

Singing "Look'in for a City" - The banjo is a fun addition to this one.
