Yes, that is Karen on crutches! She sprained her ankle when a log she had been sitting on dropped and rolled on her foot and leg. Along those lines, Seth broke his collar bone the same day! The X rays show it is mending well and it is now out of the sling. We are thanking God.
No, our family doesn't get hurt like this often!
A retirement facility where we played...
and the car show we enjoyed after the program.

A little biased, don't you think?

"A Line in the Soil" Celebration

If you've ever doubted that music could make the rafters ring, just try giving a concert in a machine shed! We were privileged to be part of the entertainment lineup at the annual "A Line in the Soil" Celebration at the Cory family farm. They are an very dedicated family who has taken seriously the challenge of alternative farming. Their own grass-fed beef was the special feature on the menu, while vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to cool off.

Enjoying dinner...

Later that evening, after a group jamming session, our family packed up our equipment and headed over to a friend's house to cash in on a free Sibelius 6 crash course. (Thanks, Marie!) Our great big barn was a welcome sight early the next morning when we pulled into our drive. O the joys of traveling!

A Sweltering Summer Serenade

It's fair time folks! It wouldn't quite be an Iowa summer without that fun in the sun at the fair.

The Bremer Co. Fair

Our very shy secret admirer

Karen - fiddling a fast n' fancy (but not quite memorized) hoedown

Picnic with grandparents! - the best sort of refreshment.

We're Still Alive!

We had a great time giving a concert for the wonderful people at Sand Lake Christian Missionary Alliance Church way up in Spring Lake, Minnesota!
They have some beautiful country, but a lot of mosquitoes. Some of us got more than our share of bites! :(

Singing "Look'in for a City" - The banjo is a fun addition to this one.

At the Butler County fair...
As always, we had a great time playing at Cottage Community Church!
Getting the sound system working is an interesting job sometimes.

Spring Valley Drive-in Outdoor Service

We had a great time in Illinois! Even though it was extremely "buggy" and sprinkled a few times, we enjoyed seeing the old cars and eating "Sunday Night Sundaes" after the concert.

This is part of the field where the people parked for the concert.

Looking at the classy old cars...

We'd love to see you at one of our concerts!

Some people sat in their cars to listen, while others sat in lawn chairs up in front.
The people in the cars used their horns instead of clapping! It was neat to hear the old horns.
The owner of one of the old cars told us we could take a picture in his car!
